Born in Hawkinsville, Georgia, Charles is a former NFL Defensive End playing all 11 years of his career with the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers drafted Charles in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft from the University of Georgia. Charles recorded 67.5 sacks during his professional career making him second all-time in Panthers franchise history. Since his playing days, Charles has dedicated himself to philanthropy through his Charles Johnson Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to providing educational support through scholarships and experiential learning opportunities.
